We are CSTA Massachusetts

We are a community of dedicated computer science teachers and partner organizations committed to advancing computer science education across the state.  We host chapter and regional meetings to support computer science teaching and learning by providing professional development and networking opportunities, virtually and in-person. The chapter was recently formed through the merger of CSTA Greater Boston and CSTA Western Mass.

About Us

Your local CS Community

The mission of the chapter is to facilitate discussion of local issues, provide professional development opportunities for its members, share best teaching practices and curriculum, collaborate with companies and schools to increase CS education in K-12 schools, and to promote CSTA membership on the national level. 

If you were a Greater Boston or Western Mass chapter member rest assured, nothing will be changing for you except for our chapter logo, which will reflect the new alignment. You’ll continue to have the same access to resources, events, and the vibrant community you know and love. As we merged the two chapters, we identified eight regions across the state: Berkshires, Pioneer Valley, Central, Metro West, Northeast, Boston and Metro North, Southeast, Cape Cod & the Islands. The leadership team of the new chapter includes representatives from each region.

CSTA Online PD

CSTA online professional development (PD) courses provide a flexible, deep learning experience that you can complete at your own pace. Course content includes meaningful and interactive activities focused on application to your CS classroom—you’ll do a lot more than just read and watch.
